Estonian Amateur Open 2021 by Tallink

The Estonian Amateur Open by Tallink, already 18th time, will start the day after tomorrow. The competition, which is part of the world amateur golf ranking, is held at the Estonian Golf Country Club, where it was last in 2010, when the winners were Arnas Kaunas (the only Lithuanian male winner in EstAm history) and Larissa Steinfeldt (Germany).

Looking at the start list, it is safe to say that we have the most representative line-up ever. Despite the restrictions caused by Covid-19, representatives of nine countries will be competing. Of the 98 players on the starting list, 32 have a plus handicap, and 28 are on the WAGR leaderboard. The Finnish team will start with 15 men and U18 national team candidates, supported by three coaches. The best young players in Lithuania will also be present, together with their new head coach Ari Savolainen. If the airlines do not fail, the defending champion Kevin Christopher Jegers will also take off together with other currently healthy members of the Estonian national team. Women’s defending champion Gile Bite Starkute continues her university season in the USA with the NCAA final tournament, so we won’t be seeing her this time. However, last year’s second place owner Latvian Katrina Jana Gustafssone is going to compete for the win!
