Kivi and Lautre crowned Junior Match Play Champions
This weekend, Junior Match Play Championships took place on two courses in Pärnu. Ralf Johan Kivi (Niitvälja Golf Club) and Nicky Zoe Lautre (Estonian Golf & Country Club) were crowned winners.
Amongst boys, 15 players started the hunt for the title and the final turned out to be a duel between two Niitvälja Golf Club members. This time, victory belonged to the younger contestant who defeated Markus Varjun 4&3. The bronze medal belonged to Rauno Pikk (Estonian Golf & Country Club) after defeating Robin Udodov (Niitvälja Golf Club) at the second extra hole. In the morning semifinal, Markus Varjun achieved a rare albatross (the second stroke from 160 metres, 7-iron), which was, according to current knowledge, the second ever albatross in the history of Pärnu Bay Golf Links.
The girls’ final score was 2&1 and the silver medal belonged to Meribel Malva (Rae Golf Club). The bronze medal went to the same club, as Annabel Kadak defeated Danielle Truusa (Estonian Golf & Country Club) with the result 4&3. Results
