We took the bronze medals!

In the bronze medals in the battle the Estonian men’s team won Slovenia 5: 2 and with that victory rose to the 1st division next year. The next years competition is held in England at Royal St. George Golf Course, where the legendary The Open race starts next week. Unfortunately, the boys team lost  to Slovenia 3:4 and have to settle for fourth place.

In the morning foursomes, the matches of both competition classes were tied 1: 1 by our teams. In the afternoon’s individual match plays, Ken-Marten Soo, Markus and Mattias Varjun and Carl Hellat defeated their opponents. Also in the team was Joonas Turba and the coach was Mark Suursalu. In the medal fight the final match, Finland defeated the Czech Republic 4:3. Results

However, the boys team had to admit the slight superiority of the opponent. The winning points in individual matches were brought by Richard Teder and Ralf Johan Kivi. Rauno Pikk had to accept a loss on the last green. Ruut Kangust and Robin Udodov also failed to win. Henry Mägi also belonged to the team and the coach of the team was Egeti Liiv. The gold medals went to Finland, who defeated Norway firmly in the final 5.5:1.5. Results

The competition was held in addition to the contribution of many volunteers, with the support of the following organizations: Ministry of Culture, R&A, EGA, City of Tallinn, Jõelähtme Parish, Tallink, A. Le Coq, Cramo, Euronics, Nike and Estonian Golf & Country Club.
