Estonian Match Play Open winners: Teder, Kiige
A long weekend of match play at Pärnu Bay Golf Links finished today with the crowning of champions across six different competition classes. Three of the classes saw their first-ever winners, all of whom earned a spot in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) for the first time thanks to their victories. A total of 117 players from seven different countries participated over the weekend.
The winner of the Estonian Match Play Open was Richard Teder (Estonian Golf & Country Club), who defeated defending champion Ralf Johan Kivi (Niitvälja Golf) on the third extra hole. Teder’s previous only win dated back to 2023. He also holds two bronze medals from 2019 and 2022. The defending champion Kivi now has a full set of medals: last year’s gold, this year’s silver, and a bronze from 2023.
In the bronze medal match, Ken-Marten Soo (Estonian Golf & Country Club) defeated Kevin Christopher Jegers (Niitvälja Golf Club) 5&4. Last year’s finalist Soo delivered a flawless performance in the third-place match, recording six birdies. His medal collection now includes two bronze medals (2020 and 2024) and one silver (2024). Jegers, on the other hand, has three silver medals from 2019–2021, all earned on the same course.

In the Estonian Ladies Match Play Open final, Rae Golf Club players Kirke Kiige and Iiris Mätas faced off — both reaching the final for the first time. Kiige came out on top, winning on the first extra hole. It was the first championship medal for both players, and Kiige also earned a place in the WAGR as a result of her win.
The bronze match saw last year’s finalists Anete Liis Adul (Estonian Golf & Country Club) and Triin Marleen Ustal (Rae Golf Club) compete against each other. This time, Adul claimed the bronze with a 2&1 victory. Adul now boasts four gold medals (2016, 2020, 2021, 2024), three silver (2019, 2022, 2023), and her first bronze. Ustal has a previous silver (2023) and one bronze (2021).
