Estonian Junior Open: seven titles stay at home
At the Estonian Junior Open, which concluded yesterday, Estonian players managed to keep the titles at home in seven of the ten age categories. Of the 30 podium places in total, exactly half stayed in Estonia, while the other half went to players from abroad. A record 155 competitors from 11 different countries took part in the tournament at Rae Golf.
The Rae Golf women’s course record of 68 was matched on two occasions. On the opening day, local club player Iiris Mätas achieved the feat, followed by Danielle Truusa (Estonian Golf & Country Club) on the second day.
According to preliminary information, the tournament also earned WAGR points for U21/U18 boys’ co-winner Kasr Urh Jamnik and U16/U14 boys’ winner Lauri Aht. The tournament also saw one hole-in-one, made by Aivar Paalberg Jr on the fourth hole during the final round.
