On the last day of the European Senior Men’s Team Championship in the Czech Republic, Estonia faced Luxembourg and had to admit an extremely close 2-3 defeat. Taavi Truusa and Benno Maaring scored a winning point on the last day. Kaupo Pastak and Raido Raamat had to admit defeat. The overall result was decided by the foursome match that lasted until the second extra hole, but the opponents performed better and, therefore, they won the whole match. Results

The team comprised of Kaupo Pastak (Saaremaa Golf & Country Club), Benno Maaring, Jaak Vahi, Mart Urbas (all from Tartu Golf Club), Raido Raamat and Taavi Truusa (both from the Estonian Golf & Country Club).

The final position, however, means that Estonia also secured a sport for next year’s European Senior Men’s Team Championship, since the number of the teams will be limited to 20 starting next year. This year, the winner’s trophy belonged to England who beat France in a close match 3-2. Members of the Irish team got to celebrate bronze medals.

Next year, the European Senior Men’s Team Championship will take place in Bulgaria at the BlackSeaRama Golf Course.
