Ain Hanschmidt elected President of the Estonian Golf Association

At today’s General Assembly of the Estonian Golf Association, Ain Hanschmidt was elected as the new President of the Association for the next three years.

“The number of Estonian golfers has grown rapidly in recent years, and now is the right time to take the next step in the direction of competitive golf – Estonian golfers should have the opportunity to fight for medals and one day reach the Olympics, and we want to create the conditions for this with the new board.”said Ain Hanschmidt.

Ain Hanchmidt is Chairman of the Board of Infortar, Estonia’s largest investment company and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Eesti Gaas, one of the region’s largest privately owned energy companies. Mr Hanschmidt is vice-chairman of the Employers’ Confederation’s council and chairman of the Economic Environment and Taxes Working Group. Previously, Mr Hanschmidt has led the Estonian Association of Large Enterprises and the Estonian Banking Association.

In addition to Mr Hanschmidt, Anders Anderson, Ivar Valdmaa, Martti Talgre, Peter Hunt, Tiit Kuuli and Kristo Raudam have been elected to the board.
