First time in the history we found the best in the Baltic Champions Cup in Pärnu at Pärnu Bay Golf Links.

Unexpectedly Estonians took the win, overtaking Latvia 8.5: 3.5 and Lithuania at 10: 2. Second place went to Latvia, they beat Lithuania by 9.5: 2.5.

The team consisted of 12 players from each country, 6 of them male and 6 female. The best players in different age groups who won or were next in the rank in their national championship were invited to the team. Looking at the players skill level or handicap before the match, one could expect an exciting duel between Estonia and Latvia above all else, but the Estonian team made a powerful performance in difficult circumstances and left with the victory cup. Due to the competition committee’s decision in the morning of the competition, the competition was reduced to nine-hole match play due to the difficult weather.

Estonians winning team consisted of: Carl Hellat (2nd place in Estonian Championship), Ken-Marten Soo (3rd place in Estonian Championship), Markus Varjun (3rd place in Junior U18 Championship), Tarmo Kivi (Mid-Amateur Champion), Benno Maaring (3rd place in Senior 50+ Championship), Peep Pira (Estonian Senior 60+ Champion), Anete Liis Adul (Estonian Champion), Mariliis Palm (4th place in Estonian Championship), Triin-Marleen Ustal (4th place in Junior U18 Championship), Kristel Ulla ( Mid-Amateur Champion), Laura Kämäräinen (Estonian Senior 50+ Champion) and Margarita Ross (Estonian Senior 60+ Champion).
