Markus Varjun and Anete Liis Adul crowned Estonian Champions

Today the XXIX Estonian Golf Champions were announced at Pärnu Bay Golf Links. For the first time Markus Varjun (Niitvälja Golf Club) was crowned champion and for the second time Anete Liis Adul (Estonian Golf & Country Club) won the gold medal. In the men’s competition, Carl Hellat (Niitvälja Golf Club) took silver and Joonas Turba (Reval Golf Club) bronze. In the women’s competition, Elizaveta Sofia Reemet (Estonian Golf & Country Club) took the first silver medal and Liis Kuuli (Niitvälja Golf Club) the bronze.

In the men’s competition, Carl Hellat went into the final day as the leader, but Markus Varjun, who had a great round on the opening day, took the lead in the middle of the match and increased his lead to three strokes. The final score of -12 marks a new Estonian Championship record. Markus’ rounds of 65, 72, 67. Carl Hellat’s silver medal score (-9) consists of rounds of 69, 66, 72. Bronze medal went to Joonas Tura with a score of -2 (70, 72, 72) and Kevin Christopher Jegers (Niitvälja Golf Club), who finished with a score of -1 (68, 75, 72), had to settle for fourth place for the second year in a row. Ralf Johan Kivi (Niitvälja Golf Club), who had a good round today, finished with a par (72, 75, 69) to take fifth place. In the women’s class, Anete Liis Adul repeated her championship record of +3 with rounds of 72, 73, 74. Elizaveta Sofia Reemet, who settled for the silver medal on this occasion, finished +7 (77, 73, 73). For Liis Kuul, a bronze medal was enough with +27 (84, 81, 78). The men’s mid-amateur award went again to Kristo Tullus (Rae Golf Club), who finished in a high shared 11th position in the overall standings. Taavi Truusa (Estonian Golf & Country Club) took the men’s senior men’s award and Eva Peedimaa (Tartu Golf Club) the women’s award.
