Palm and Saaroja defended mid-amateur titles

Today, the golf competition Mid-Am Open by Assa Abloy ended in Pärnu. This time, Estonians snatched all top three places. In the men’s class, Marten Palm (Niitvälja Golf Club) defended his title, and, among women, Getter Saaroja (Rae Golf Club) did the same.

The first day was played at White Beach Golf with a strong wind and, on the second day, half of the players were tormented by rain at Pärnu Bay Golf Links. Palm, who played the opening day with 69 strokes, added 72 on the second day and, in total, achieved a clear victory with the final result of −3. Kristo Tullus, whose score was +3 (73, 74), also received the 40+ special award in addition to the silver medal. Martin Järve achieved the bronze medal with the result +4 (76, 72). Both medalists are members of Rae Golf Club. Results

In the ladies’ class, Getter Saaroja (Rae Golf Club), whose scorecard read 82, 79, defended her title. Eva-Kristina Maaring’s rounds were 82 and 86 strokes, and the bronze medal went to the same family, as Triin Anette Kaasik’s result was 84 and 85 strokes. Kaasik also received the 40+ special award and both players are members of Tartu Golf Club. Results

For the first time, team medals were awarded. In the men’s class, victory belonged to team Niitvälja Golf Club I and, in the women’s class, to the Rae Golf Club ladies’ team. Medalists:
