Rae Golf Club scores two golds at the Interclub Championships, Niitvälja and Tartu each take one

Today, the Estonian Interclub Championships ended at the Estonian Golf & Country Club. Among women, there was no match for Rae Golf Club. In the men’s class, Niitvälja Golf Club was victorious, and, among senior men, Tartu Golf Club was the only one to defend their title.

Men

This time, the result of the final wasn’t decided on the last green, but there was still a lot of excitement and high-quality golf. For instance, Richard Teder and Markus Varjun both played a bogey-free round and, finally, on the last green, victory belonged to Richard who had played five strokes under par and Markus could not defeat him with his result of −4. The overall win belonged to Niitvälja Golf Club this time, as they were better than the Estonian Golf & Country Club with the result 3.5−1.5. Carl Hellat, Kevin Christopher Jegers, Markus Varjun, Marten Palm, Mattias Varjun, Rasmus Kivila and team captain Joel Rothberg were awarded gold medals. The silver medals belong to Henry Mägi, Janar Toomesso, Rauno Pikk, Richard Teder, Ruut Kangust, Timo Olesk, team captain Rain Uusküla and adviser Peep Tammemäe this time. Results

 

 

In the battle for the bronze medals, Rae Golf Club took down Reval Golf Club in a successful rematch with the result 5-0. Jaanus Jürissaar, Kristo Tullus, Rassel Orumägi, Tarmo Kivi, Viljam Põdra, playing captain Martin Järve and adviser Andres Kivivare were awarded bronze medals. Results

This year, the fifth place belonged to Tartu Golf Club, the sixth place to Valgeranna Golf Club and the seventh place to Otepää Golf & Country Club. Results

Ladies

In the ladies’ class, Rae Golf Club achieved their first ever title in the club’s history by defeating Niitvälja Golf Club with the result 2.5−0.5. Gold medals were awarded to Getter Saaroja, Iiris Mätas, Meribel Malva, Triin Marleen Ustal, team captain Kadri Veskimeister and adviser Martin Järve. Silver medals belonged to Kadi Riin Vähejaus, Kristella Sikk, Kristina Kuzmenok, Liis Kuuli, team captain Ulvi Ingver and adviser Joel Rothberg. Results

In the match-up for bronze medals, the Estonian Golf & Country Club defeated Valgeranna Golf Club 2-1. Bronze medals belonged to Danielle Truusa, Isabel Sirel, Lill Kangust, Nicky Zoe Lautre, team captain Rain Uusküla and adviser Peep Tammemäe. Results

This year, the fifth place belonged to Tartu Golf Club, the sixth place to Reval Golf Club and the seventh place to Otepää Golf & Country Club. Results

Senior men

The only one to defend their title this year was Tartu Golf Club who defeated the Estonian Golf & Country Club in the final with the result 2.5−0.5. Gold medals travelled to South Estonia this year thanks to Benno Maaring, Jaak Vahi, Mart Urbas, Toomas Tamme, team captain Vadim Apuhtin and adviser Margo Liiv. Silver medals belonged to Jan Larsson, Mait Schmidt, Raido Raamat, Taavi Truusa, team captain Rain Uusküla and adviser Peep Tammemäe. Results

 

Reval Golf Club and Niitvälja Golf Club had a duel for the bronze medals for the third year in a row. And for the third year in a row, Reval Golf Club managed to secure themselves bronze medals, this time with the result 2-1. The bronze medal team consisted of Allan Raassalu, Jaanus Turba, Raivo Velsberg, Tõnu Vilipuu, team captain Erko Täht and adviser Heiti Elster. Results

Senior ladies

Rae Golf Club achieved their first title in the ladies’ class and managed to do the same in the senior ladies’ class. Rae Golf Club defeated Niitvälja Golf Club 2.5−0.5. The victorious team consisted of Kaire Kastor, Sirje Eichelmann, Viivika Nõmberg, Jana Raudvere, team captain Kadri Veskimeister and adviser Martin Järve. The silver team, however, comprised Kristel Ulla, Karin Mängel, Triinu Tombak, playing captain Ulvi Ingver and adviser Joel Rothberg. Results

Bronze medals, however, were awarded to the senior ladies of Tartu Golf Club who defeated both the Estonian Golf & Country Club as well as Valgeranna Golf Club in the foursome matches for places three to five. The fourth place belonged to Valgeranna Golf Club who proved to be better than the ladies from the Estonian Golf & Country Club. The bronze team consisted of Anu Rebane, Eva Peedimaa, Lea Schmidt, Triin Anette Kaasik, team captain Vadim Apuhtin and adviser Margo Liiv. Results
