The Estonian champions are Varjun and Kuuli. New Estonian Championship record for Varjun!

The 28th Estonian Championship was concluded today at the Niitvälja Golf Course, where Mattias Varjun and Liis Kuuli from Niitvälja Golf Club were crowned champions.

Mattias Varjun, who had already taken the lead on the opening day, continued to play solidly on the final day and the final round score of -4 meant total result of -9 (69, 70, 68). The result, which gave Varjun his first gold medal and is a new record for the stroke play championship. The silver medal this time belongs to Ken-Marten Soo (EGCC), bronze medallist of the last two years, whose rounds were 72, 74, 71 and gave him an overall score of +1. His clubmate Richard Teder came third with exactly the same result, his rounds were 72, 73, 72. The final 2 day’s score was the deciding factor. Fourth place was shared between Kevin Christopher Jegers and Markus Varjun (both Niitvälja Golficlub). Results

The women’s title also belongs to Liis Kuuli from Niitvälja Golfclub, who took the lead on the opening day. Liis Kuuli, who won her first championship title in 2016, had this weeks rounds of 74, 76, 78. The silver medal this time belonged to clubmate Annika Koitmaa, who trailed Liis by six strokes, Koitmaa’s rounds were 79, 80 and 75. The bronze went to Saaremaa to Karola Soe with the round of  79, 83 and 75. Results

The Mid-amateur special prizes went to Kristo Tullus (Rae Golfclub) and Annika Koitmaa. The best seniors were Enn Pääro (Niitvälja Golfclub) and Viivika Nõmberg (Rae Golfclub).
