Mid-Am team loses to Andorra
The Men’s Mid-Amateur European Team Championship came to an end in Austria today. Estonia faced Andorra in the match for 15th place. The contest remained close until the final holes, but unfortunately Estonia suffered another defeat, losing 0.5–2.5.
For the second day in a row, the foursomes pair of Janar Toomesso and Timo Olesk secured Estonia’s only half-point. Aksel Seppel had to concede defeat on the final hole, while Joel Rothberg’s match ended on the penultimate green.
Ireland were crowned European team champions after beating the hosts Austria 3–2 in the final. The bronze medal went to the Netherlands, who comfortably defeated Finland 4.5–0.5.
In the women’s championship, Germany claimed the gold medal by beating Spain 3–2 in the final. France took bronze after defeating Ireland by the same score.
