We are pleased to announce that registration for the 2021 European Amateur Team and Boys’ Team Championships, Division 2, which ended this Monday, broke records. A total of 17 visiting teams are coming to Estonia and together with Estonian teams a record of 19 teams are participating.

Both competitions will take place at the Estonian Golf & Country Club, Sea Course on July 7-10, and spectators are allowed due to the easing restrictions. Nine countries are participating in the men’s competition: Andorra, Croatia, Estonia, Poland, Serbia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland and the Czech Republic. And the boys competition brings the following countries: Belgium, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Finland.

Registration for the men’s individual European Championships, which will take place at the end of June in France, also ended today. A total of 144 players will be accepted to the competition at the Golf du Médoc Resort, but there are 281 applicants. Estonia is guaranteed one place in the start list, but according to the world ranking, there is hope for additional places.

However, Covid-19 will also make adjustments to this summer’s competitions calendars. The R&A Amateur Championship will remain very central to the island nation this year, as Scotland’s strict rules do not allow players from most countries to enter without a quarantine requirement. The A-Division of the European Men’s Team Championship, originally scheduled to take place in Sweden, is moving to PGA Catalunya Resort near Barcelona, Spain. The U18 girls’ European team championship, which was originally to take place in the Netherlands, will move to the Montado Golf Resort in Portugal.
